The launch of Season three in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare brought no shortage of new content and fixes. Multiplayer got new maps, and Warzone’s floor loot was refreshed with new silenced weapons. Warzone also got a new mode in the form of Quads, a four-player variant in both battle royale and Plunder. Though there are many welcome fixes in the Season three patch, not everyone was on board with Quads. The reason being that they replaced the default Trios option, which had existed since the launch of Warzone, and persisted after Solos were added.

If you and a friend tolerated a random teammate in Trios, you may not be able to do the same for Quads. It turns out, Infinity Ward knows this, and is planning to add Duos to the list of modes at some point in Season 3. The Season 3 landing page on the official site at one point included a Warzone section that lists Quads, Duos and a third tile for “more throughout the season.” The site has since been updated to remove all mention of this, of course, but not before people managed to grab a screenshot. Above you can see the since-removed Warzone section highlighting Duos, via Reddit user Polack19. This obviously doesn’t tell us when, but one to two weeks into the season seems like a good guess.
